Ways You Can Volunteer

1. UrbnHub Community Champions (Digital Advocacy)

Become a trusted community voice by sharing resources on social media. We’ll provide graphics, toolkits, and talking points to help you post weekly and raise awareness.

Great for social media-savvy advocates and changemakers.

2. Neighborhood Ambassador Team (Door-to-Door Outreach)

Help us canvas neighborhoods with flyers, surveys, and friendly conversations. Ambassadors help us listen, learn, and connect directly with Kansas City families.

Perfect for outgoing, community-centered individuals.

3. Event Support Volunteers

From our GrandFamilies Holiday Celebration to Summer Youth Resource Fairs, we need volunteers to help with setup, registration, hospitality, and resource tables.

Great for flexible helpers who enjoy live events and teamwork.

4. UrbnConnect KC Moderators & Greeters (Virtual Support)

Help manage Zoom workshops, admit participants, greet guests, and assist with tech questions as we host monthly events that connect residents with local organizations.

Ideal for detail-oriented, tech-comfortable volunteers.

5. Blog & Storytelling Contributors

Love to write? Help us spotlight local nonprofits, community leaders, and lived experiences. We welcome volunteers who can help gather or write stories that uplift and inform.

Great for writers, journalists, or students looking to build a portfolio.

6. Resource Researchers & Database Helpers

Support our Community Connect Navigators by researching and verifying resource listings for our centralized directory and calendar.

Best for volunteers who love to dig into data, organize information, or work behind the scenes.

7. Group Volunteering & Service Projects

Are you part of a school, faith group, or corporate team looking to give back? We welcome group volunteers for projects, donation drives, and event support.
